This Federal Election – Vote for Horses!

A federal election has been called for November 24th, 2007. This is everybody’s opportunity to vote for horses! There are a range of issues which can combine to have an effect at the Polling Booth.

These include, but not confined to:

  • Equine Influenza
  • Recognition of our strong Australian Cultural Heritage
  • Horse-riding as a physical activity to reduce obesity
  • Recreational trails as an important consideration for funding under roads
  • Upgrading of our aging regional show grounds and other horse related assets
  • Horse owners are land managers
  • Access to public land for riding
  • Road safety
  • Water issues for irrigation, sporting fields
  • Climate change and issues including horse pastures, hays, disease spread

On average, for every 6 racehorses or sport horses in work, a full time job is created
